A Sensory Welcome
The gentle evening breeze carries the irresistible aroma of hickory smoke and caramelized sugar across the back porch. In the kitchen, a saucepan of ripe summer peaches, raw honey, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika simmers into a glossy, rich amber sauce. On the grill, the chicken skin crackles over hot embers, taking on golden char marks before being brushed with sweet peach glaze.
The Table of Grace
There is something deeply comforting about gathering family around an outdoor table on a summer evening. As the sun sets and warm light filters through the trees, the sticky sweetness of BBQ and the smoky air remind us of the simple gifts of fellowship and creation.
In Psalm 34:8, the Psalmist writes: 'Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.' Food has a unique way of engaging all our senses, drawing us out of our busy thoughts and into gratitude for the present moment. God doesn't just provide sustenance; He delights in giving us rich flavors, vibrant fruits of the season, and hands to prepare them with love.
When you share these peach-glazed chicken thighs around your table tonight, let every bite be a reminder of God's sweet provision and enduring goodness in your life.

Ingredients
For the Peach BBQ Sauce:
2 cups fresh or frozen peaches, chopped
1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup
3 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp coconut aminos or tamari
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp sea salt & black pepper
For the Chicken:
3 lbs bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
1 tbsp avocado oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 tsp sea salt & black pepper
2 ripe peaches, halved for grilling
Instructions
1. Simmer the Sauce. Combine chopped peaches, apple cider vinegar, honey, tomato paste, coconut aminos, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 10 minutes until peaches break down. Blend until smooth with an immersion blender.
2. Season. Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Rub with avocado oil and season evenly with garlic powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, and black pepper.
3. Grill. Preheat your grill to medium heat (approx. 400°F). Place chicken thighs skin-side down on grates. Grill for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
4. Glaze. Generously brush the peach BBQ sauce over both sides of the chicken during the final 5 minutes of grilling, allowing the glaze to caramelize and bubble. Grill halved peaches cut-side down for 3 minutes until charred.
5. Serve. Transfer glazed chicken and grilled peaches to a warm platter. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves and serve warm.
Around the Table
Fellowship Question: What is a simple blessing from this week that reminded you of God's goodness?
Stewardship Tip: Don't discard overripe peaches! Freeze chopped bruised peaches in zip-top bags to make instant BBQ sauce, marinades, or morning smoothies later in the season.
May your table tonight be filled with laughter, gratitude, and good food. Warmly, Hannah
