Sweetness and Strength

Some things are just meant to be shared. There is a quiet magic in the way a ripe, sun-warmed peach cuts through the rich, buttery cream of a fresh ball of burrata. They are completely different ingredients. One grew on a tree under the summer sun, and the other was crafted by hand in a dairy. Yet, when they meet on the plate, they sing. It is a reminder that the best tables, like the best communities, are made of different voices finding their harmony together.
Gathered in Unity
There is a verse from the Psalms that I keep returning to as the days grow longer and our backyard table starts filling up with friends.
"How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" — Psalm 133:1
In our modern world, unity can feel like a rare commodity. We are so easily divided, so quick to retreat to our own corners. But when we gather around a table, something shifts. The simple act of passing a platter, sharing a loaf of bread, and laughing over a meal breaks down the walls we build. A peach and burrata salad is a picture of that unity. The sweet, juicy fruit and the rich, creamy cheese are wonderful on their own, but together, they create something far greater. That is what community is supposed to look like. We bring our different gifts, our different stories, and we find our place in the larger design.
Stewardship is not just about managing our finances or conserving our resources. It is also about stewarding our relationships. It is about creating spaces where people feel welcomed, seen, and fed. When we open our homes and share what we have, we are participating in a ministry of hospitality that is as old as faith itself. So as you slice your peaches and tear your cheese tonight, remember that the table you are setting is a sacred space for connection and grace.
The Recipe
Summer Peach & Burrata Salad
Prep: 10 min | Cook: 0 min | Total: 10 min | Serves: 4
Macros: 12g Net Carbs | 14g Fat | 8g Protein | Vegetarian
Ingredients
3 large ripe peaches, sliced
8 oz burrata cheese (2 balls)
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
4 cups fresh baby arugula
2 tbsp high-quality balsamic glaze
¼ cup fresh basil leaves, torn
Flaky sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Bed of Greens. Arrange the fresh baby arugula across a large, beautiful serving platter. It acts as the canvas for our dish.
2. Arrange Peaches. Nestle the sweet peach slices scattered among the arugula greens, letting their vibrant color show.
3. Add Cheese. Gently tear the balls of burrata in half, exposing the rich, creamy core, and place them thoughtfully around the platter.
4. Drizzle. Generously drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and the dark balsamic glaze over the entire salad, letting them mingle.
5. Garnish. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt, fresh black pepper, and torn basil. Serve immediately while the cheese is fresh.
Around the Table
Fellowship Question: In what area of your life or community can you actively promote unity today?
Stewardship Tip: Leave the burrata at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving. The creamy stracciatella center is best when it is not refrigerator-cold, allowing the flavors to bloom fully.
May your table tonight be a place of unity, laughter, and sweet fellowship. — Hannah
